A Couple of times a week, to help with daily devotions, words of encouragement and teaching will be posted on this page to help you in your walk with the Lord Jesus. The wonderful truth is that ALL Scripture is inspired by God / God breathed and is indeed profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness, that we may be thoroughly equipped for every good work in Jesus. So get into the word of God today, do what it says and the Lord will bless and equip your life in Jesus.

One of the wonderful truths concerning Jesus is that He brings the Light of life into our lives when we give our hearts to Him. Jesus made it clear that He has come that we might have life and life in all its abundance. Not only does Jesus dispel the darkness of guilt, sin, Satan, fear and death, but He also empowers us to walk as children of the light in His full victory and empowerment.

In every sense the light of Jesus Christ is made manifest as the seed of the Gospel and the seed of the Kingdom has been planted inside of us through repentance and personal faith in Jesus. It is by the Spiritual New Birth that we are set free from the sins, dominion and blindness of the world and brought into the Kingdom of His light. This New Birth is a direct miracle of Jesus, a direct and purposes work of God in our lives. Just as the Holy Spirit moved over the waters in Genesis 1 v 2, the same Holy Spirit is the one by which we are Born Again through faith in Jesus. The same Heavenly Father who spoke light and life into existence is the same Father who speaks life and freedom over our lives through Jesus. The same Son (Jesus) in whom and through whom all things were created and have there being is the same Son (Jesus) in whom we have been saved, washed clean and forgiven. In every sense the Lord God Almighty has shone the light of the knowledge of His Son Jesus into our lives and this has indeed filled our lives with the light and life of Jesus.

There is no darkness in God at all, there is no fellowship between darkness and light and Scripture declares that Jesus is the light of the world and if we follow Him we will not walk in darkness but have the light of life.... It doesn’t matter whether we are talking about the darkness of pride, ignorance, sin or fear, the darkness of doubt, worry, sickness or depression when you follow after Jesus He promises to dispel all darkness and bring us into the freedom of His victory and the freedom of His love. It is to the Lord’s glory that we learn to walk in faith and trust in the full work of Jesus Christ for our lives, allowing this full salvation work to be manifested in our lives...... When we do we overcome the things of this world and in our daily lives, words and actions show the world the glorious grace, riches, love and salvation of the Light of the world, who desires to bring light to all men!!

Word for the Week  23 / 6 / 08

Oh how you have got to love the word of God. It is amazing the wonderful truth and victory it declares over our lives as Christians. While preparing the sermon for Sunday the Lord led me to a wonderful verse found in 2 Corinthians 2 v 14.

“ Now thanks be to God who ALWAYS leads us in TRIUMPH in Christ. and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.”

Wooo this is an amazing verse concerning the full victory that Jesus has won for us not only in eternity but even now!! Paul is writing in the context of a difficult situation where a brother has come against him and has said uncharitable things about his ministry. Paul has corrected this brother in the Lord and the man has repented and said sorry.

It is in the setting of a difficult situation that Paul declares this wonderful promise of victory and triumph in Christ. What we see here in this verse is that it is the Lord Almighty Himself who goes ahead of us and leads us in triumphant procession....... Whatever life’s problems or difficulties this word declares that if we fix our eyes on Jesus, obey His Word, are led by His Spirit, live a holy life and do not give up, then the Lord will cause US TO TRIUMPH IN EVERY SITUATION!!!

We have a choice we either believe that God’s word is true or we don’t..... For this passage gives us the promise that IN CHRIST there has been won victory over sin, satan, the world, the flesh, all principalities and power and even death itself........ As we live in and through the Lord Jesus Christ we share in His victory and His victory, through the wisdom of the word and Spirit, is made manifest in our lives. In this we overcome all things and as Romans 8 v 37 says we are not just conquerors “ We are MORE than conquerors through Christ who loves us!”

It is His desire that we live like this so that the full fragrance of His victory and salvation might be manifested through our lives and actions..... It is not, may the fragrance of Jesus fill this place, as the old choruses declares, BUT we are the fragrance of Jesus in this world today and it is through how we live and the fruit we bear that we become a fragrance of encouragement and blessing to the saints and the fragrance of witness and conviction to the lost. 

So my friends whatever challenges and trials lay before you at the moment... come to the Lord Jesus with rejoicing in your heart.. For He will never leave you or forsake you and as you are faithful to walk and live for Him .....YOU WILL overcome ALL things and be led in triumph by Almighty God Himself....
